One day, many, many moons ago, two adorable freshmen stepped
onto Baylor University campus. We met during Welcome Week, actually on our
second day of college. Walking around campus, we started to get to know each
other by asking wholly original questions like “What’s your major?” and “Where
are you from?” We quickly discovered we both wanted to attend law school, were
interested in politics, and were psyched to be Bears. Before long, we were
joined at the hip.
After years of movie nights, grabbing coffee at Common
Grounds, student group meetings, and classes together, we slowly but surely
realized our friendship had blossomed into love. After a few more meaningful
conversations, things became “official” during our senior year. Adding to the
fun of our last year at Baylor, we went on dates, planned our law school
adventures, and adopted the cutest pugs ever.
Once our tassels had been turned at graduation, we moved to
the big city: Washington, DC! Starting law school together was certainly a
challenge, and was followed by many other adventures. Some fun, some tough, but
we knew that we were in it together. After about a year in DC, we both somewhat
secretly started talking to our friends and sisters about engagements rings. On
January 19, 2013, Saralyn popped the big question. After some crying and an
excited “Yes!” Sami counter-proposed (just like a law student). And the rest,
as they say, is history.
Now, after two long years of planning and waiting and looking
at floral patterns, we are finally ready to get married! We’re excited to share
our story and our big day with you. Keep checking the blog for wedding details
and updates.
Love,
Saralyn & Sami
